About Ajda

Choosing a therapist is a considered decision, especially when difficulties feel longstanding or hard to put into words.

I am a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist accredited by the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies and the European Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Therapies, a Registered Mental Health Nurse accredited by the Nursing and Midwifery Council, and hold postgraduate diplomas in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Mental Health Nursing from the University of Southampton, an Master of Science in Theoretical Psychoanalytic Studies from University College London, and a Bachelor of Arts in Cultural Studies from the University of Ljubljana.

I work in a structured and deliberate way, integrating evidence-based CBT with Compassion-Focused Therapy and attention to the nervous system. Emotional safety is central — it allows difficult material to be addressed without destabilising the process.

My approach is informed by years of supervision and mentorship under highly experienced IAPT clinicians, helping me integrate structured, evidence-based CBT with nuanced care that draws on self-compassion and goes beyond symptoms to explore the why and the how. I am deeply grateful for their wisdom and for showing me how to keep a client-centred approach at the heart of everything we do.

Having lived across multiple countries and navigated periods of misalignment, I am attuned to the subtle ways displacement, cultural transition, and identity shifts shape experience. I provide space where experiences of marginality, transition, or not fully belonging can be acknowledged, contained, and explored thoughtfully. I am an LGBTQ+ ally and welcome clients whose identity or circumstances place them outside conventional norms.

I often work with people who have tried therapy before and felt it stayed at the surface — we focus on the patterns underneath with clarity and precision.

I offer therapy in English, Slovenian, and Spanish, primarily working with adults across the UK, Slovenia, and Spain.

Who I Work With

I work with adults experiencing persistent patterns of anxiety, low mood, self-criticism, and trauma-related responses, particularly when difficulties feel entrenched or overwhelming. Many of the people I work with are capable and thoughtful, yet privately struggling with patterns that feel difficult to shift.

While my approach is anchored in trauma-informed CBT, it is enriched by psychodynamic perspectives, compassion-focused principles, and attention to emotional and bodily experience. This integrative approach allows me to explore underlying patterns, symbolise and integrate fragmented experiences, and support clients in rebuilding a coherent sense of self.

I work effectively with anxiety (including generalized anxiety disorder, panic, health anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and specific phobias such as emetophobia), depression, and low self-esteem, including when these difficulties co-occur. I take a transdiagnostic approach, focusing on the patterns underlying multiple, overlapping difficulties. In other words, I am comfortable navigating the grey, messy areas of human experience — a part of life we all share.

I offer therapy online in English, Slovenian, and Spanish for clients in the UK, Slovenia, and Spain.

How I Work

Sessions last 50–60 minutes and are usually weekly.

CBT provides structure. We set clear goals together and review progress regularly. Work between sessions is always active.

Therapy is not mechanical. I notice shifts in attention, emotion, and engagement, and respond to them in the moment. When avoidance or disconnection appears, it is addressed carefully but directly.

I am attuned to the ways trauma, loss, and burnout can shape patterns of thought, emotion, and behaviour, and how meaningful change can be created even when difficulties feel hopeless. My work supports clients in symbolising and integrating experiences that may feel fragmented, helping them to rebuild a coherent sense of self and find clarity, stability, and possibility within complexity.

Emotional safety is deliberate and structured. It allows challenging material to be explored without becoming destabilising.

This approach suits people willing to engage actively and reflect honestly. It may be less suitable for those seeking reassurance without deeper examination or needing urgent crisis support.

Session Fees

£90 per 50–60 minute session. Sessions are usually booked in blocks of four and paid in advance. After each block, we review the experience and plan next steps together.

This rate reflects focused, evidence-based therapy that often leads to meaningful change in under 20 sessions. Emotional safety, precise attunement, and practical integration between sessions are built into every session, ensuring therapy is both effective and supportive.

Concession rates are available for people experiencing financial or personal hardship; please get in touch to discuss eligibility confidentially. Optional, free 15-minute video calls are also offered to answer questions and help you decide if this approach feels right for you.
